Better Luck Next Time is a work for jazz quartet, composed in 2021.

This piece incorporates a thematic use of the number 13 in many elements of the work. This creates a sense of uneven lopsidedness, and other elements in the work such as dissonance and uneven phrase lengths combine to create sense of unluckiness.
