This piece is inspired by the life of notorious bush ranger and outlaw Ned Kelly. Kelly is an iconic figure in Australian culture, seen both as a folk hero who fought oppression, and as a representation of lawlessness and violence. The title of this piece comes from a quote from journalist Martin Flanagan - "What makes Ned a legend is not that everyone sees him the same - it's that everyone sees him. Like a bushfire on the horizon casting its red glow into the night."
