Decoded

Decoded is a piece written for unaccompanied Bb trumpet, and was composed in 2021.

 

Duration: c. 4 minutes 30 seconds.

The piece is constructed from various number processes, and aims to utilise these techniques in the creation of a virtuosic solo in a cadenza like style.
The inspiration behind this piece is OAK chocolate milk - the barcode and the company slogan were both
used in the application of numbers and mathematics in the piece, including through tone row transformations, Fibonacci sequence and number-letter allocations.
